A herniated disc is a problem that appear in the vertebral discs, which are characterized by being soft pads, which are located between the vertebrae that are stacked and make up the spine. The bulging of the disc that can cause symptoms such as pain in the back, burning sensation or numbness.
There are different types of hernias:
- Cervical disc herniation: Located in the neck area.
- Thoracic disc herniation: Located in the middle area of the back.
- Lumbar disc herniation: Located in the lower back area.
- Dificulty to walk.
- Loss of control of the bladder or bowels.
When a patient has symptoms, such as the inability to walk, surgical intervention is recommended.
